About From the Heart Church Ministries of Waldorf

Who We Are, What We Believe and How We Believe It

From the Heart Church Ministries of Waldorf is a non-denominational church that is part of From the Heart Church Ministries Worldwide®;  a ministry that has been given the mandate to be at the forefront of the reformation of the Church. The church was established on April 9, 2002 under Dr. John A. Cherry – Founding Episcopal Pastor. It has a fairly equal balance of men and women, married and single, young and old.

Founded by Pastor John H. Howie and Reverend Patricia W. Howie as Choose Life Church Ministries, Inc. on April 9, 2002, under the authority of Episcopal Pastor John A. Cherry. Weekly Bible Study Services began on July 1, 2002. The First Sunday Service was held on Sunday, January 5, 2003, at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Waldorf, Maryland.

In a year, Choose Life moved to 10579 Middleport Lane in White Plains, Maryland. As the church expanded and needed additional space, in 2010 the church moved into its current location at 19 Irongate Drive in Waldorf, Maryland.  This expanded facility provides space to minister and teach the children, well as space for community activities and classes.

In 2012, God directed Pastor Howie to go back to his original instructions and return to his roots.  On June 3rd, 94% of the congregation voted in favor of transferring into From the Heart Church Ministries Worldwide™.  Choose Life Church Ministries, Inc. is now From the Heart Church Ministries of Waldorf, a church that “chooses life.” From the Heart Church Ministries Worldwide™ (Church History).

On October 30, 2015 Pastor Howie left this earthly realm and began his journey to eternity.  We are truly grateful to God for Pastor’s Howie’s commitment to the faith and his care for the membership.  The life, love and legacy of his earthy ministry continues through the grace of God by his beautiful wife Reverend Patricia Howie.

On Sunday, November 8, 2015, Episcopal Pastor John A. Cherry assigned Reverend Reuben L. Monmouth, III as the Elder-In-Charge.  In July 2016, the church moved to the Annex at 5055 Allentown Road on the Parent Church’s campus while searching for a new church home.  On Sunday, February 26, 2017, we moved into our current church location at 169B Smallwood Village Center in Waldorf, Maryland in an effort to continue to further the Gospel in the Charles County area. Reverend and Minister Monmouth served From the Heart Church Ministries of Waldorf for nearly three years.

On Sunday, September 9, 2018, Episcopal Pastor John A. Cherry, II appointed me as the Interim Pastor of the church.  And on Sunday, March 3, 2019, I was Ordained an Elder and formally installed as the Pastor.

The Waldorf church has continued to grow and develop under me and my wife.

Statement of Faith
What We Believe and How We Believe it
We Believe
In the One, True, Living God who is infinite in all things. We believe He is Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent and that He manifests Himself in three persons. God the Father is our Source, God the Son is the way to the Source and the Holy Spirit is our Director, Guide, Enabler and Helper. We also believe that the Holy Spirit is equal in deity to the Father and the Son. We believe that through the infilling of the Holy Spirit we are empowered to disassemble those things in our lives that are contrary to the Word of God and to assemble those things necessary to cause us to be effective members of the Body of Christ.
We Believe
That in the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth and set into operation Seven Spiritual Principles© to govern His creation, and by following these principles, man would be able to take dominion over, subdue, and to replenish the Earth. Therefore, man is able to live a productive and fruitful life, add to the productivity of the lives of others, and leave a deposit in the Earth for the next generation.
We Believe
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by Holy men of old as the Holy Spirit moved, and the entire Scripture – from Genesis to Malachi and Matthew to Revelation – contains all things necessary for our salvation, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and for instructions in righteousness.
We Believe
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, that He was crucified, died and was buried and that on the third day He arose from the dead and that He is the Savior of the World. He is now seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, making intercessions for us at the Throne of God. We believe that Jesus died to purchase the Church, He arose to give resurrected life to the Church, He ascended to be the Head of the Church, and He’s coming back again for His Church. He is the way, the truth, and the life and no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him.
We Believe
That salvation only comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ by a confession with the mouth and a belief in the heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We do not believe that water baptism is unto salvation, but rather is an outer expression of an inner conviction and represents to us that inward purity which positions us to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and that as He died and rose again for us, so should we, who are baptized, be baptized with the Holy Ghost and die to sin and rise again unto righteousness. Good works cannot bring about salvation, but are the fruits of and spring forth out of a true faith in God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We Believe
That we should trust God, trust leadership and trust each other so that all who believe and are on one accord would network their resources together so that NONE SUFFER LACK.
We Believe
That the love of God, which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, is the foundation of all our actions, causes us to live by the requirements of our faith, and that LOVE NEVER FAILS.
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
